More than a century ago, the Barcelona City Council proposed and debated the draft Culture Budget for 1908, which became a benchmark for revamping education in our city and across Catalonia. Since then, Barcelona has been a pioneering city in pedagogical innovation and in the struggle for freedom in education, even during the darkest times of the Franco regime
