Oscar Tusquets and Igor Urdampilleta in la capell

On the occasion of the presentation of the facsimiles signed by Oscar Tusquets at the Singulars galleryla capell, the author and Igor Urdampilleta of Arquitectura-G talked about Oscar's work, industrial design, photography and art in general.

"... I am in favor of las copies. It's much better to see a good reproduction of the Mona Lisa on the sofa at home, with a whiskey, than to be queuing at the Louvre..."

"... on the fetishism of the original work: Practically all Greek sculpture that we know of are Roman copies. With este criterion I have always been in favor of being able to reproduce things m ies. These reproductions are made to the exact scale of the original, under my control, and with my approval..."

"... They are not limited series. LAS limited editions of photography make me sick. ... Walter Benjamin spoke of art in the age of mechanical reproduction... Now it turns out that you have the negative of a photograph and it is not allowed to make as many copies as you want. Since you can't make m ace of ten, you end up keeping a copy of an original print that is already yellow. I'm against it. As I am against having a rickety Thonet chair. A piece that has never stopped being reproduced and that I have seen in an exhibition with the grille totally deformed... but since the grille is the original..."

"...Nostalgia? It's a base, without nostalgia, where is Proust? That you can't work with memory?... you HAY work with memory! I'm not m interested in any work of art that doesn't have to do with memory..."

“... The so-called abstract art doesn't interest me at all. HAY a wonderful interview with Bacon, wonderful (...) where the journalist asks him what he thinks of abstract art. And Beacon replies that it is a purely decorative art, I cannot agree m ace. Everything that interests me in life is not there: neither sex, nor death..."
