The almost thirty articles by Jack Self that we present here, brought together for the first time in a book, take the real as a starting point, since the object of these reviews is not so much to comment on cultural production as to focus on the way in which what we call culture dissolves into a thousand gestures, objects and decisions that trace the limits of our contemporaneity and constrain it.
