Revised and expanded edition. Josef Albers, one of the m influential artist-educators of the twentieth century, was part of the German Bauhaus in the cada of 1920. In 1933 he emigrated to the United States, on for sixteen years he served doc at Black Mountain College. In 1950 he moved to Yale University as head of the Design Department, and after his retirement in 1958 he ser appointed Professor Emeritus of Art, a position he held until his death in 1976. Distinguished with numerous awards and t honorary titles, in 1968 he ser elected a member of the National Institute of Arts and Letters, and in 1971 he ser the first living artist to whom a retrospective exhibition was dedicated at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. 162 p.: Illustration, Photo, Color, 23x17, 5 cm., Paperback
