The island of the women of the sea

Set a l the Korean island of Jeju, The Island of the Women of the Sea is the story of the friendship between Mi-ja and Young-sook, two young women from very different backgrounds, who soon ser swept away by the inexorable course of history. Their friendship ser witness to Japanese colonialism in the thirties and forties of the last century, as well as the Second World War and the advent of new technologies that were to change the m in which they had grown up.
