1348. The Crown of Aragon is experiencing one of its m most turbulent times. A terrible and unknown disease arrives in the port of Barcelona and begins to spread through its streets when Marina Montaner, descendant of a long line of Valencian merchants, disembarks in a city plunged into chaos. Fleeing from the henchmen of King Peter IV the Ceremonious, the young woman is persecuted for an affront of which she has been unjustly accused.
