The Book of Wonders

The son of a family of Venetian merchants, Marco Polo left Europe with his father and uncle in 1271 to embark on a wonderful journey along the famous Silk Road to China, ruled by the great Mongol emperor Kublai Khan. After a twenty-four-year journey throughout the Asian continent, he returned home and wrote down his adventures, which reflect the fabulous exoticism of a still unknown and almost unreal East.
