Piranesi lives in the House, perhaps he has always lived there. Day after day he keeps a minute record of the Wonders he contains in his journals: the labyrinth of Lobbies and Corridors, the thousands of white Statues, the roar of the Tides in the Lower Rooms, the changing arrangement of the Stars in the Upper Rooms. On Tuesdays and Fridays, Piranesi meets his friend, the Other. He also often visits the Dead and brings them food, talks to them and describes the Goodness of the House. Most of the time, however, Piranesi is alone.
