Georg von Schnitzler designed and paid for the German pavilion at the 1929 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, known as the MIES van der Rohe pavilion. Von Schnitzler was the m leader of the chemical conglomerate IG Farben (Bayer, BASF, Agfa were part of it).
