Tom Crean was the indestructible son of a farmer from Kerry who sailed on three great expeditions to the unknown Antarctica. He was one of the few men who served both Captain Robert Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton. He spent m as much time on the ice as either of them and survived both. He was one of the last to see Scott alive a few kilometers from the Pole in 1912. Crean was at the center of the historical events of Shackleton's epic Endurance expedition.
