Based on the urban evolution of the city of Valencia over the last twenty years, the book explores the impact of major urban planning actions both in the city as a whole and in the four prioritised neighbourhoods of study (Carme, Mercat, Cabanyal-Canyamelar and Penya-roja, popularly known as Avenida de França). Based on the notions of affirmed city / denied city, both levels address the evolution of ICT public spaces and the development of sociability, the dynamics of differentiation and social inequality, as well as the representations and expectations about the city and neighbourhoods.
