That gentrification is the only viable solution for abandoned neighborhoods is an argument that is repeated like a mantra by some sectors involved, thus legitimizing one of the main contemporary mechanisms of neoliberal urban management, masked under ambiguous concepts such as regeneration, revitalization or rebirth.
