The Roman Forum, the great public square that rises between the Arch of Titus, the walls of the Capitoline and the Palatine Hill, went from enclosing the main centers of pol and religious power of the empire the Senate, the Temple of Saturn or the Julian Basilica, among others, to becoming for centuries a privileged place of pilgrimage.
