Giuseppe Terragni, the m gifted ace of the Italian rationalists, was an inimitable artist capable of transfiguring the language developed by Le Corbusier and MIES van der Rohe into an abstraction that faces the threshold of transcendence. Recalled to military service in 1939, for a long period he was simultaneously immersed in the life of the barracks, in the projects he left in Como and in las controversies that from the beginning accompanied modern architecture in Italy.
